About the Role
As a Café Counter Attendant, you will be working at our Café & Deli and will be assisting in preparing cold and hot drinks as well as preparing and serving easy snacks. You will be engaging with your guest at the counter, taking orders, and handling payments.

Your respobilities
Mise en place for daily service
Help guests choose menu items and take orders
Assist in preparing and serving hot & cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and similar
Prepare and serve easy snacks such as sandwiches, cakes and other
Prepare bills and handle various types of payment forms
Work closely with all other team members to provide outstanding and efficient service
Comply with all health and safety regulations
Perform other shift duties such as relevant cleaning or organizing tasks
Process end of day or end of shift as per company’s standards
Your competencies
You have the relevant job experience for this position
You interested in coffee and want to learn more about it
You have excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English (mandatory)
You are comfortable working in a busy high-volume restaurant
You know how to upsell and get excited about sales targets
You are a team player and natural people person
You have excellent organization and customer service skills
You pay attention to the details and are happy to take over responsibility
You are able to work weekends and on holidays

About the Company
Balagan Food is a Middle Eastern inspired restaurant business operating as a nomad concept since 2020 in Greater Lisbon area. The Beach House at Praia do Sul in Ericeira will be our first fixed location with two F&B outlets: a Deli & Café on the ground floor and a full-service Restaurant & Bar on the first floor open 7 days a week. We are committed to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients but once served to the table transformed into a vibrant Mediterreanean-Middle Eastern cuisine. Opening this summer season, it’s an exciting time to join Balagan and we look forward to writing this new chapter together with you!
